BuildXLR8. The 30-Day Milestone Build.
Your whole operation on software you own, one milestone at a time.
Each 30-day cycle ships working software, priced and agreed before it begins.
Stop after any cycle and keep everything built so far.
Manufacturing and logistics operators, 10 to 500 people.
How it is paid
One cycle at a time
Focused from $20,000, Operations from $50,000, Full Platform above $50,000 with no ceiling.
Priced and agreed before each cycle begins
Written acceptance before the next one starts
Code handed over on every sign-off
Stop after any cycle with no penalty
Before you commit to a cycle
Your whole operation on software you own, one milestone at a time.
Even if every quote you have had so far was a number with no plan.
Most quotes for work like this are a number attached to a hope. Start with the Map instead: one conversation, and we send back a wireframe of your operation plus a written scope, so you can see what you would be buying and in what order. Free, and yours to hand to any firm on earth if you decide we are not the ones to build it.
Get your free Operations MapYou are not committing to anything by asking for it. This is the step before the decision.
The Spreadsheet Tax, one order up
Fixing one workflow just moves the problem to the gaps around it.
The version you find once part of the operation is already working. Quieter than the first one, and more expensive.
Part of the operation is on software now. The rest is still on paper, and the two do not speak to each other.
Someone still re-types the same numbers out of one system and into the accounts every week.
I know this spreadsheet is going to break someday. I just hope it is not today.
My business runs on me. If I take a week off, things fall apart by Wednesday.
You hired experienced people and then handed them tools that make them do clerical work.
Your operation is not an edge case. It is the case, and software should have caught up to it by now.
Half a system is not half the benefit. It is two systems and a person in the middle.
Why this contract looks the way it does
We did not start with four guarantees. We earned each one.
Every gate in this contract is here because we learned it the expensive way. Early builds taught us that a project without a signed definition of done, a named decision-maker and a fixed feedback window will drift, however good the engineers are. So we stopped relying on goodwill and wrote the gates into the agreement. That is where the milestone model, the acceptance gate and your right to walk away came from.
Since 2021
Building operational software
The same senior team, shipping under our WebXLR8 practice. BuildXLR8 is the offer built on top of that, and it is new.
Around 100
Clients served
We can say we worked with them, not what the result was, because we did not measure it well enough to claim it.
Three
Products we run, not just build
Opvello is live in three verticals with a paying customer in each. We hold the uptime, which is different exposure to shipping and walking away.
Two
Builds in delivery at a time
Five senior people, hard capped at two. That is arithmetic behind the No-Deprioritisation Guarantee, not a promise about intent.
Some of the companies we have built for.
The system we did not build for a client
We run one of these ourselves, and three businesses pay for it.
Opvello is a business management system built out of what years of client work taught us. It matters here for one reason: we carry its uptime, which is different exposure to shipping something and walking away.
Before
Three businesses in three verticals, same shape of problem: an operation held together by spreadsheets, messages, and the person who remembers how it works. We had already built the pieces, repeatedly. Opvello is what happens when that stops being bespoke every time.
Now
- Live in three verticals, with a paying customer in each
- Run and maintained by us, so the uptime risk is ours
- The same team, loop and acceptance gate you would get
The honest part
No percentage goes next to any of this. Nobody has finished a BuildXLR8 engagement yet. What we can show you is what we have built, and what we will sign.
The plan
Map. Lock. Build. Own.
One loop, once per 30-day milestone. BuildXLR8 is The 30-Day Operations Reset, run again and again until the business runs on it.
Map
We map the operation as it actually runs, not as the org chart says it does, and turn that into a written scope.
Lock
Each cycle's scope and price are agreed in writing before it starts, against a clickable prototype you sign off. No change orders inside a cycle.
Build
A senior team builds the cycle, and it must pass written acceptance before the next one is priced or started.
Own
Every milestone lands in your cloud and repository on acceptance, with its source code. You can stop after any cycle with everything already yours.
Map is where the scope and the price come from. Nothing is committed before it.
Sizing
Three sizes, decided by how much of the business ends up on the system.
A sizing frame, not a fixed menu. Final scope is curated after Map and Scope.
Focused
From $20,000
One department stops running on spreadsheets.
- One workflow chain, built properly end to end
- Roles and permissions
- A live dashboard for the owner
- Documentation, demo videos and training
Operations
From $50,000
The connected middle of your business runs on one system.
- Several connected departments rather than one workflow chain
- Integrations into the tools your team already runs
- A reporting and analytics layer across them
- Everything in Focused
Full Platform
Above $50,000
The whole business runs on one system you own.
- The full operating layer, scoped cycle by cycle with no ceiling
- Multiple integrations, multi-site or multi-entity where you need it
- Roles, permissions and an analytics layer across the whole system
- Everything in Operations
You will know your tier and your cycle count before you agree to anything.
The guarantee stack
Four guarantees, and the first one is the one that matters.
A guarantee you cannot walk away from is not a guarantee. These are contract terms, and you can ask to read them on the call.
The Walk-Away Guarantee
Stop after any 30-day cycle. No cancellation fee, no penalty, no exit conversation.
Every milestone you have paid for is already in your own systems, with its source code. Walking away costs you nothing because you are never holding an IOU.
- Code, deployment, secrets and runbook handed over per cycle
- The early milestones are priced at fair standalone value, which is what lets us mean this
The Acceptance Guarantee
Every milestone passes written acceptance criteria before the next one is priced or started.
The next invoice is conditional on the last delivery, so you never pay forward into something that does not work yet.
- Criteria written into the scope upfront, not after delivery
- You decide whether it meets the spec, and we keep working until it does
The On-Time Guarantee
5% off that milestone at week two, and a further 5% the week after, capped at 10%.
Credited on your next invoice, or refunded if the next milestone is smaller than the credit.
- Delays on our side only.
- Capped at 10% of that milestone. The total discount on any single milestone is capped at 25%.
The No-Deprioritisation Guarantee
Your build is never paused or slowed to make room for a bigger client.
What smaller clients quietly fear at every agency, and most are right to. The two-build cap exists so it stays true.
- Two builds in delivery at a time.
- If we ever pull resources, the On-Time Guarantee has already triggered
Capped at 10% of that milestone. The total discount on any single milestone is capped at 25%.
Honest exclusion
Who BuildXLR8 is for, and who it is not.
Good fit
- Operators of 10 to 500 people who have outgrown the manual layer
- Manufacturing, logistics, trading, distribution, import and export
- A defined operation to replace, not an idea to explore
- Owners who want one system they own, not another subscription
Not a fit
- Multi-tenant SaaS products serving millions of end users
- Build-anything briefs with no operation behind them
- Teams who want a strategy deck rather than working software
- Anyone who needs the whole platform live in one go
Not ready for the full build
Start with The 30-Day Operations Reset instead.
One cycle rather than a sequence: five modules, one fixed price, one fixed date, no milestone chain to commit to. The cheapest honest way to find out whether we are the right people to build the rest.
It is not a detour either. A completed Reset becomes milestone zero, and graduates carry 25% off their first BuildXLR8 milestone.
FAQ
What people ask before a build.
Anything not on this list? Book the call and we will work through it together.
What does a build actually cost?
Focused from $20,000, Operations from $50,000, Full Platform above $50,000 with no ceiling. Final scope is curated after Map and Scope, then built one milestone at a time, each priced and agreed before it begins.
What stops the cost running away?
Each 30-day cycle has its scope written and its price agreed before it starts, with no change orders inside it. We never begin a milestone that has not been agreed and paid, so you are never exposed to more than one cycle at a time.
Am I locked in?
No. Every completed milestone is in your own systems with its source code the day it passes acceptance. Stop after any cycle and you keep everything built so far, with no cancellation fee.
Do I have to do the the Operations Reset first?
No. BuildXLR8 can be scoped from the first call, with cycle one doing the de-risking the Reset would have done. And the Reset is not a detour: a completed one becomes milestone zero, and graduates carry 25% off their first BuildXLR8 milestone.
What happens after the build ships?
A 60 day hypercare window is included in the build price. After that the platform can move onto BuildXLR8 Assurance, our care plan, scoped against your build and signed at go-live. You own the code either way.
